William Pascal returns with “Chimera,” an ambitious new album that pushes his artistry into deeper conceptual territory while challenging the boundaries of today’s music landscape. Following the nostalgic energy of “Timeless 2” and “Timeless Reforged,” the project marks a significant evolution for the Roman rapper, blending sharp songwriting, cultural commentary, and experimental production into one of his most defining releases to date.
Inspired by Alice Rohrwacher’s 2023 film Chimera, the album serves as both a creative manifesto and a search for stronger artistic identity. William Pascal uses the concept of the chimera as a symbol of illusion, unattainable dreams, internal conflict, and hope, crafting a project that explores the complexity of modern existence while offering an alternative to formula-driven mainstream trends.
Produced remotely alongside Milan-based producer Qowo, whose underground credentials add a distinct edge to the project, “Chimera” balances atmospheric production with layered lyricism. Strategic oversight from Clas K, who handled recording, mixing, mastering, and scratches across several tracks, further strengthens the album’s cohesive sound and polished execution.
Throughout the project, William Pascal weaves together themes of loneliness, religion, love, revenge, social anxiety, war, artificial intelligence, and disillusionment. Rich with cinematic, mythological, and philosophical references, “Chimera” reflects an artist deeply invested in both personal storytelling and broader cultural exploration.
The album’s visual identity also reinforces its depth. Designed in collaboration with longtime creative partner Just A Local Boy, the cover art draws from both mythological symbolism and retro pixel aesthetics, merging mystery, sacredness, and digital-era identity into a striking representation of the project’s themes.
