He recounted informing host Michele Fitzgerald about the relationship early on, but she was skeptical, noting that Swift typically dates “scrawnier” artists rather than athletes like Kelce.

Following his comments, Bergmann faced criticism from Swift’s fanbase, prompting him to issue an apology. He expressed regret for any confusion caused, stating, “I’m so sorry for the confusion. I misspoke, and my words were taken out of context.”

For context, Kelce and Swift’s relationship became public in September 2023 when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.
