404X build their sound around contrast on “SLiDE,” the second chapter of their three-track release THE $kY TRiLOGY. Featuring VØX and kayleen, the release brings together two artists with different creative instincts and lets those differences shape the music rather than smoothing them out.

The name 404X reflects that meeting point. 404 and X spent years creating music independently before joining forces at the start of 2026. Their individual approaches remain central to the project. 404 moves freely between house, hip-hop, and other production styles, while X, formerly known as DKNIGHT, focuses on the words.

That separation of roles gives 404X its character. The production and writing do not compete for space. Instead, each side reflects the other, creating a dynamic where contrasting ideas can sit together. “SLiDE” becomes a natural expression of that chemistry, with the collaboration built around the energy that comes from two distinct creative perspectives.

The track also occupies an important position within THE $kY TRiLOGY. The release opens with “SEASØN,” featuring NØVIR, before moving into “SLiDE” with VØX and kayleen. It closes with “SiLENCE,” again featuring VØX. Each track forms part of the wider three-part release, placing “SLiDE” at the centre of the concept.

With “SLiDE,” 404X continue to establish what makes the partnership work. Their music does not depend on making two different approaches sound identical. Instead, the contrast between 404’s production and X’s writing becomes part of the identity of the project. That tension gives 404X a sound built on exchange, difference, and creative chemistry.
