Ye’s Chicago homecoming continued Friday night, Sept. 4, with a second sold-out performance at Soldier Field that turned into a three-hour celebration of his catalog, Chicago roots and long list of collaborators. The show featured roughly 60 songs and a large group of surprise guests, with Ye keeping the focus largely on the music.

One of the biggest moments came when Kid Cudi joined Ye onstage for a long-awaited reunion. The two performed “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” and “Ghost Town” together before Cudi delivered his own hit “Pursuit of Happiness.” The appearance marked a notable public reunion between the longtime collaborators, whose relationship has experienced several highly publicized conflicts over the years.

Rick Ross also returned to the stage with Ye for “Devil in a New Dress,” performing his celebrated verse from Ye’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The performance marked the song’s return to Ye’s live set with Ross after a lengthy absence. Ross followed it with “B.M.F.,” adding another major guest appearance to the Chicago show.

Travis Scott was another major guest during Night 2. He joined Ye for “FE!N” and “FATHER,” bringing the Cactus Jack connection into the homecoming performance. Don Toliver also appeared during the show, performing “OK” and “E85” with Ye.

Chicago’s own Chief Keef received a major spotlight during the concert. He performed “Love Sosa” with Ye and joined him for “I Don’t Like,” with the latter receiving a second performance after being restarted. According to the reported setlist, it was the first time Ye performed “I Don’t Like” live since 2016.

Ye also used the show to acknowledge Lil Durk, who is currently facing a federal murder-for-hire case. During the concert, a recorded message from Durk was played before Ye performed Durk and J. Cole’s “All My Life.” Ye then shouted out Durk, making the Chicago rapper part of the night’s hometown-focused presentation.

The production itself became another centerpiece of the performance. Ye performed from the massive globe-shaped stage used during his 2026 touring run, with lasers, lighting effects and the rotating structure creating a large-scale backdrop for songs including “Flashing Lights” and “All of the Lights.” The visual production extended the stadium spectacle beyond the guest appearances and catalog performances.

The second night also brought together members of Ye’s former G.O.O.D. Music circle. Big Sean and 2 Chainz, who appeared during Night 1, returned alongside Common, Consequence, CyHi The Prynce, GLC and Really Doe. Lupe Fiasco, Twista and other Chicago-connected artists also appeared during the two-night run, turning the Soldier Field shows into a reunion of artists connected to different eras of Ye’s career.

The two-night Chicago engagement marked Ye’s first major concerts in his hometown since his 2021 Donda events at Soldier Field. The Sept. 3-4 shows are part of his 2026 touring schedule, with additional stadium dates announced for Houston, Dallas and Phoenix later this year.
