Ye Talks ‘Bully’ Release Date and Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar Feud

In a recent interview with Justin LaBoy following the Grammys, Ye shared exciting details about his upcoming album BULLY and discussed the ongoing rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

The rapper revealed that his daughter, North West, has had a significant influence on the album’s creation, even impacting its release date. Ye explained that North had expressed a desire for the album to drop in June. When LaBoy asked if she was referring to her birthday or Ye’s, Ye glanced at North and asked if Yeezus had been released on her birthday. North nodded, and Ye confirmed, “Yeah, so we are gonna do it on your birthday. That’s when we’re gonna bring Bully out ’cause that’s her favorite album.” Since Yeezus came out on June 18 and North’s birthday is on June 15, fans can expect BULLY to arrive in the summer, just in time to celebrate her special day.

During the same interview, Ye was asked about the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. When LaBoy asked if Kendrick had “killed Drake,Ye agreed, but added that this victory was likely temporary. He compared it to the unpredictability of basketball, saying, “You can’t ever count out Steph Curry. That man might get 200 points in one song or something.” Ye explained that while Kendrick has certainly pushed the musical envelope, both Drake and artists like Future have played crucial roles in advancing the culture.

Ye also mentioned the impact of Kendrick’s unique style, likening it to the way Twista’s speed influenced the rap game. He emphasized that professionals in the industry must evolve to stay relevant, warning that if they fail to learn and adapt, they risk being “wiped out.”
