Troye Sivan Releases Madonna-Sampling ‘Party’ Single & Cinematic Video: Watch

Troye Sivan has released “Party,” the second single from his forthcoming fourth studio album, She’s the Best, along with a cinematic music video directed by Gordon von Steiner. The track arrived Sept. 17, 2026, ahead of the album’s scheduled Oct. 9 release.

“Party” prominently samples Madonna’s 2000 hit “Music,” incorporating the song’s recognizable dance-floor refrain into Sivan’s new electro-dance track. The release follows the August arrival of “She’s the Best,” the album’s title track, whose music video featured Nicole Kidman.

The accompanying video takes Sivan into a medieval setting, with the singer appearing as a knight in armor. Filmed at a castle in Berkeley, England, the visual combines period costumes, choreography, sword fighting and a large-scale party sequence. Von Steiner, who has previously directed several of Sivan’s videos including “Rush,” also directs the new clip.

Sir Ian McKellen provides the opening narration for the video. McKellen and Sivan previously worked together in a production of Waiting for Godot in Perth when Sivan was 14. The actor’s involvement adds another connection to Sivan’s earlier career to the new visual.

Sivan has explained that “Party” was influenced by the bush doofs he experienced growing up in Melbourne and by the repetitive, hypnotic quality of dance music when experienced on a dance floor. He said the track was designed around the feeling of a night that moves continuously from one location to another without a clear beginning or ending.

The song also marks the first official release featuring Sivan and his brother Tyde Levi together. Other credited collaborators on “Party” include Leland, Rob Feher, Kaelyn Behr, Elvira Anderfjärd, Tove Burman and Luka Kloser, with production credits going to Levi, Feher, Behr and Sivan.

For the video, Sivan and von Steiner explored the history of nightlife and partying through a queer cultural lens. Sivan said the concept led them to imagine what partying might have looked like in earlier eras, resulting in the medieval world portrayed in the clip.

“Party” is now available as the second preview of She’s the Best, which will arrive Oct. 9 and follow Sivan’s 2023 album Something to Give Each Other.
