JENNIE Pops Up at The Weeknd’s South Korea Concert for Surprise Live Debut of ‘The Idol’ Fan Favorite
JENNIE made a surprise appearance during The Weeknd’s concert in South Korea on Thursday, Oct. 8, joining the Canadian singer for the first-ever live performance of their collaboration “One of the Girls.” The BLACKPINK member appeared during the second night of his two-show engagement at Goyang Stadium, giving fans an opportunity to see the pair perform the 2023 hit together for the first time.
The performance took place during The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour, which returned him to South Korea for the first time since 2018. The two concerts, held Oct. 7 and 8, were part of Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 and attracted approximately 110,000 concertgoers across both nights, according to local reports.

JENNIE joined The Weeknd onstage for “One of the Girls,” a song featuring both artists alongside Lily-Rose Depp. Released in 2023 as part of the soundtrack to HBO’s The Idol, the track became one of the series’ most successful musical releases and developed a substantial following beyond the television show.
The surprise appearance was particularly significant because The Weeknd had regularly performed the song during his ongoing tour without JENNIE, covering her portions himself. Although JENNIE began performing the track during her own live appearances in 2026, the Goyang concert marked the first time she and The Weeknd performed their collaboration together onstage.
Footage from the performance circulated online shortly after the concert, showing the two artists trading vocal lines beneath red stage lighting. The performance concluded with the pair embracing before The Weeknd continued his set. JENNIE thanked the singer for inviting her onto the stage, referring to him by his given name, Abel.
The collaboration originated through The Idol, the controversial HBO drama that premiered in 2023. The Weeknd starred as Tedros, while JENNIE portrayed Dyanne, a dancer in the orbit of the series’ central character, Jocelyn, played by Depp. “One of the Girls” was released alongside the show’s soundtrack and later became a major streaming success.
The song also marked a significant milestone in JENNIE’s solo career. It reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 20 weeks on the chart. The track surpassed one billion streams on Spotify and became one of her most widely recognized solo releases outside BLACKPINK.
The surprise performance comes as JENNIE continues her solo activities following the release of her debut studio album, Ruby, in March 2025. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, giving her a new personal best on the chart. She has continued releasing music in 2026, including the Fallen Angel EP in August and her collaboration with Tame Impala on “Dracula,” which has also charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
For The Weeknd, the South Korean concerts form part of the international stadium tour supporting his albums After Hours, Dawn FM and Hurry Up Tomorrow. The two-night engagement marked his return to the country eight years after his previous performance there, while JENNIE’s appearance brought a long-awaited live reunion of the artists behind “One of the Girls.”
