Adéla has revealed that she contacted Nicole Kidman’s team before releasing her song “Nicole Kidman” to make sure she had permission to use the actress’ full name in the track. The Slovak pop singer discussed the process in a recent interview with Pop Crave, explaining that she did not want to use someone’s name in a song without knowing they were comfortable with it. Kidman ultimately gave the project her approval.

The song appears on Adéla’s debut album, PRIMA, which was released Sept. 4 through Capitol Records. “Nicole Kidman” is the second track on the album and was accompanied by a music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis. The visual incorporates references to several of Kidman’s best-known film roles, including Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge!, Birth and Babygirl, as well as her AMC Theatres commercial.

Adéla has previously explained that her fascination with Kidman grew while she was working on the album. She said she had recently watched Eyes Wide Shut and became particularly interested in Kidman’s screen presence. The singer also connected the actress to an experience at a Golden Globes event, where she arrived dressed up despite never having appeared in a movie herself and felt that she had captured the kind of movie-star image she associated with Kidman.

Since the song’s release, Kidman has publicly embraced the track and its creator. Before the album arrived, the actress told a fan at the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 that she knew who Adéla was and said she planned to attend the singer’s Nashville concert. Kidman later continued showing support for the song and Adéla on social media.

Adéla’s Nashville performance took place Sept. 21 at The Basement East, where she performed the song in the city that has become part of its story because of Kidman’s connection to the area. The concert was part of the singer’s sold-out North American headline tour supporting PRIMA.

“Nicole Kidman” has also become one of the prominent tracks from Adéla’s debut era. The song has been accompanied by increasing attention surrounding PRIMA, while her earlier single “Ain’t In LA” has continued its chart run. The album followed Adéla’s 2025 debut EP The Provocateur and her transition into a solo career after first gaining wider attention through Netflix’s Dream Academy.

For Adéla, receiving approval directly from the person whose name anchors the song has become another part of the track’s rollout. She said she was surprised that Kidman knew who she was and described the actress’ response as particularly meaningful because the song was written about someone she deeply admires.
